COLOMBIA

| Calima |

Lago Calima is Colombia's largest artificial lake and is located just 1.5 hours from the famous Piedechinche and 2 hours from the XC hotspot Roldanillo. Thanks to the strong winds, the lake offers the best conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Of course, as soon as paraglider pilots see kitesurfers, it is clear that the wind is a bit too brisk to fly. BUT in the early hours of the morning until noon there is no wind or only a light breeze at Lake Calima. That's why we use these gentle morning hours for flying and the strong afternoon winds for theory classes and other activities.

Pilots are launched from the shore using a winch on the boat. At a height of about 800 meters you unhook and the SIV can start. Depending on your skills and goals, we train various maneuvers above the lake to prepare you for any uncomfortable flight situation. Especially in an XC paradise like the Cauca Valley, it is certainly a great comfort factor to fly and feel safe knowing that you can control any situation with the wing. That is exactly our goal and mission; Feel safer and more comfortable with didactic safety training.

In addition to all the training that takes place directly above the lake, Calima and the great surrounding area offers launch sites and other activities to try. For example an introductory kitesurfing course after your SIV flights or just a relaxing afternoon on the beach with exotic fruits and fresh drinks.

The SIV take place every year in November and February/March.

TAKE OFF

| Takeoff from the landing |

We launch all pilots with towing; a winch connected to a boat will pull you in the air (check out the video in the link). You will get a detailed introduction into towing with a boat, but its fairly easy :). After every flight, you will land at the same place where you took off. Its a big open space without any obstacles which allows a safe and easy landing.
